These murals have helped to uncover hidden talents that some of the members. We are hoping  that this arts posting can become a regular feature on the blog, we’ll just have to figure out how to make that happen on the tech side of things.

If you have any suggestions for other art projects in the space, be in washroom murals, finger painting, or whatever else, feel free to let the hosts know.

This is particularly true for homeless youth in our city (talk to Phoenix Youth or your local library) and many of our seniors.

Phoenix help youth transition from a place of need, to a place of happy and healthy independence. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

The Hub says thank you to William Lachance who has created a free, useful and helpful public transit tool called hbus for people in Halifax to use when navigating our transit system. It would be great to see the city working openly with talented entrepreneurs like Will who really care about this town and making life better for the rest of us who live here.

A committed and talented mix of people showed up on Friday, March 27th to engage in an experiment: Build a Business in a weekend. Halifax Weekend was an initiative organised and coordinated by Patrick Hankinson, who released Tetherberry only weeks ago. Patrick participated in a similar ‘build a business’ event in Ottawa and thought it would be fun to bring the concept to Halifax.

Just wanted to thank Anna, founder and designer of deux fm for providing a number of lucky ladies with some of her fabulous clothing at such a steal. The sale was a real success and it was fun to do something other than ‘laptop’ working at the hub. There were some great moments during the weekend sale with people selecting choice articles and using one of our meeting rooms as a dressing room.
