There is no absence of good ideas in the world. All that we face is a crisis of access, scale, resources and impact. So what would happen if there was a place to go to access resources, connections, knowledge and investment? Welcome to The Halifax Hub.

For the past few weeks, the Hub has had a collaborative art project taking shape in, of all places, the washrooms. These murals have helped to uncover hidden talents that some of the members. We are hoping that this arts posting can become a regular feature on the blog, we’ll just have to figure out how to make that happen on the tech side of things.

If you have any suggestions for other art projects in the space, be in washroom murals, finger painting, or whatever else, feel free to let the hosts know.

ARTICLE FROM: www.webworkerdaily.com

March 30th: Stretching all the way back to April of last year, coworking – the growing movement of independent café-like collaboration spaces for freelance professionals – has been a popular topic here on WebWorkerDaily, covered from many perspectives by our writing team and also attracting some thought-provoking commentary from our readers.

At its heart, the concept of coworking is very attractive to many web workers. You get to work in a creative environment with other professionals, freed from unhappy workplaces, with the option to be as flexible as you choose.

I just finished reading Seth Godin’s new book “Tribes”, it has a really beautiful cover design and a simple message. As humans we intrinsically want to belong, not to just one tribe, but to many. Social networking technologies have made it easier than ever to find others with shared passion and interest, connect and make thinks happen.

Even before I picked up this book, I knew that in starting the hub we were building a tribe. the hub is a tribe that wants to make things better. There are hundreds of examples in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the world where positive…
