Background
Since November 2009, the government of Nova Scotia (NS) has been facilitating a Social Enterprise Working Group comprised of federal and provincial civil servants and other professionals from various organizations across the province. By early 2011, the Working Group produced a discussion paper that explores social enterprise as a concept. The discussion paper refers to social enterprise as “businesses or organizations operated for the purpose of tackling social, economic or environmental challenges”. The third, annual Podcamp Halifax happened today at the Alderney Gate Library after a fun and exciting launch event at the Hub Saturday night. Thanks is due to the organizers and sponsors with a particular shout out to Ryan Deschamps from the Library and Craig Moore of Spider Video who have been there for a few years to nurture podcamp to where it is today. Of course there are many who have been integral, but these two have done it all from managing the facility details to hosting the in-between spaces.

Artists, organizers and attendees to recap Nocturne 2010 and gather feedback for Nocturne 2011
On Thursday, October 28th from 7-8:30 p.m., Nocturne: Art at Night, Argyle Fine Art and The Hub have teamed up to present Behind the Art at The Hub, 1673 Barrington St.
