The Hub corners and walls have recently been graced with new and exciting furniture and additions. Except that none of it is technically new. This week we received another load of items through Revive, a green solutions program that redistributes unwanted corporate office items to worthwhile causes and non-profits.
- Desks now line the back brick wall, well lit with warm regional lights above, giving a nice large work area for two.
- Big Blue, the inviting armchair by the window is too perfect for afternoon breaks – especially since an Etch & Sketch and Scrabble are just an arm’s reach away.

The weeks have been getting busy as members fill the work place, and the space is even busier on the weekends, including a Solar Nova Scotia mini-conference, Talk About Race dialogue, and a visit from Ken Dryden. Read on for a snapshot of the fabulous events that have been hosted in our space.

The Hub is being built hour-by-hour and day-by-day, but not without careful thought and planning to have as light an impact on the earth as possible. Materials were run by the ideal criteria before purchased: Reused, made of recycled content, recyclable or biodegradable, made or sold locally, design and function.
Chairs for our presentation room were generously provided by Office Interiors. The Very branded chairs are very sustainable indeed, and the first of their kind (literally – The Hub will have the first chairs off the
production line). They are made with up to 71% recycled content and up to 98% recyclable…
