Being an entrepreneur means making changes in the moment and shifting things when opportunities arise. In the spirit of collaboration and community building, we are shifting our “Take the Plunge” event this Friday to happen Wednesday, April 4^th.

This Friday we encourage you to show up at StartUpWeekend, Room 2600, Killam Library at Dalhousie University hosted by Ed Leach and Paulette Dunn. We will be there with the rest of the Start Up Canada crew for networking and to hear the pitches. The event hosts invite you to join in the fun!

On Tuesday, February 7th, join us in celebrating the Hub’s 3rd Birthday and the opening of Teresa Kilbride’s interpretive show of paintings titled “Have a Seat” – this will be the first in a series of month-long art shows hosted by the lovely Gia Greer at the Hub.

We will have cake, wine and cheese. Expect some thoughtful moments and some good fun. Come with some ideas of your own to share in our video booth. View an interview with Teresa and learn more about her and the art she will share with us on Tuesday.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the first launch of WalkHalifax. We finished the last walk on October 26, an Urban Nature Walk led by the Sierra Club. I learned A LOT. Norway maples all around the downtown have black spots on their leaves. Imported plant species don’t stand up well to our pests and diseases, kind of a no-brainier but I’ve lived here for 8 years without knowing that – SAD!
