the month that was buzzvember …

It’s been a busy time here at the Hub – feels like as the weather has cooled off, the hustle and bustle of activities has things heating up.  From hosting the Fossil Fools Filmfest with the Ecology Action Centre, to the whirlwind that was the 4 Days Conference,  to the entrepreneurial excitement of DemoHub, and the technological shenanigans of the Friday Afternoon Hacks, not to mention meetings, media, and the Atlantic Eco Expo … and things show no signs of slowing down!  Coming up in the next couple of weeks we have a number of interesting and intriguing events: workshops, climate talks and camps for change, just to name a few.

This Thursday, December 3rd, the Hub and Carbon Sense Solutions are bringing Copenhagen and climate change here to us.  This is the first in the  HubTalk series, a forum to share ideas, initiative and inspiration.  For more information about this inaugural talk, go to http://climatechangens.eventbrite.com/

On Saturday the 5th, the Hub will be all about ChangeCamp Halifax!  Like the other ChangeCamps going on across the country, the goal is to facilitate public participation through new relationships and new media.  ChangeCamps provides a forum where engaged citizens can collaborate with a goal of establishing new ideas, new networks, and new tools to resolve issues that Halifax faces today and will face in the future.

If you’re concerned about getting it all done this holiday season (and not turning into a big ball of stress) then you’ll want to check out the workshop from Wellness Life Coach and Nutrition Consultant Floria Aghdamimehr.  Enjoying yourself without abandoning a healthy lifestyle completely is possible with practical methods to thrive at this time of year, and tools to carry you through the other eleven months.

Stay tuned (be sure and drop in for the Friday Afternoon Hack, if that’s how you roll …) and remember you can always get the proverbial 411 about what’s happenin’, Hub-wise from this very website – just click on “events” at the top of the page!
